Prerequisite: If reading course is required, student must complete READ 2409
Students will evaluate why certain conditions and situations are treated as social problems while others remain on a personal level. Issues related to several social problems will be presented and discussed. Students will be given the opportunity to hear guest speakers and participate in discussions relevant to the problems being studied. Field trips may be taken or volunteer work opportunities offered.
